Caravan breaks 'offer a lot to be pleased about'
03 July 2009
Those who have not taken a caravan break since the 1970s may be pleasantly surprised by the standard of accommodation that some modern caravans offer, it has been claimed.
Nicki Nichol, Head of Public Relations at the Caravan Club, said that bookings for caravan holidays have risen by 40% this year.
She commented that 2009 is set to be the ‘year of the “staycation"’.
Ms Nichol went on to say that for those who have not taken a caravan break in some time, there is much to be pleased about in such accommodation.
‘You will be pleasantly surprised to see the improvements and advancements that have been made as regards to functionality and style,’ she said.
According to figures from Travelodge®, the number of Brits taking a holiday abroad this year has fallen by 6%.
Taking a caravan break could be ideal for those who enjoy outdoor activities, as many parks are situated in areas well known for walking, cycling or other activities.
